A Green Card In Every Pot
Printer FriendlyBy: Ann Coulter
Americans — at least really stupid Americans like George Bush — believe the natural state of the world is to have individual self-determination, human rights, the rule of law and a robust democratic economy. On this view, most of the existing world and almost all of world history is a freakish aberration.
In fact, the natural state of the world is Darfur. The freakish aberration is America and the rest of the Anglo-Saxon world.
The British Empire once spread the culture of prosperity around the globe — Judeo-Christian values, tolerance, equality, private property and the rule of law. All recipients of the British Empire's largesse benefited, but the empire's most successful colony was the United States.
At the precise moment in history when the U.S. has abandoned any attempt to transmit Anglo-Saxon virtues to its own citizens, much less to immigrants, George Bush wants to grant citizenship to hordes of immigrants who are here precisely because they are fleeing cultures that are utterly dysfunctional and ruinous for the humans who live in them.
Yes, this country has absorbed huge migrations of illiterate peasants in the past — notably Italian immigrants at the turn of the last century. But also notably, half of them went back. We got the good ones. America was not yet a welfare state guaranteeing room and board to the luckless, the lazy and the incompetent from cradle to grave.
Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, immigrant and first Jewish member of the Supreme Court, said that Americanization required that the immigrant adopt "the clothes, the manners and the customs generally prevailing here" and that he adopt "the English language as the common medium of speech."
But, Brandeis said, this is only part of it. "(W)e properly demand of the immigrant even more than this — he must be brought into complete harmony with our ideals and aspirations and cooperate with us for their attainment. Only when this has been done will he possess the national consciousness of an American."
Or as George Bush would call it, "empty rhetoric." And as Linda Chavez would call it, "racist."
I wish our new immigrants had come to America back when the foundations of civic society and patriotism were still inculcated in all immigrants (and when half of them went home). But traitors who are citizens have destroyed all acculturating institutions. Traitors who are citizens have also destroyed all incentive for the poor to work or even keep their knees together before marriage.
Until the recipient culture is capable of doing an effective job of Americanizing immigrants, it's preposterous to talk about a massive influx of Hispanic immigrants accomplishing anything other than turning America into yet another Latin American-style banana republic. And it is simply a fact that no one is trying to turn immigrants into Americans.
To the contrary, Democrats are trying to turn new immigrants into wards of the state — and with some success! — so they will be permanent Democratic voters. Rich Republicans and their handmaidens in Washington are trying to turn immigrants into a permanent servant class.
In an astonishing exchange on Fox News last weekend, Dan Henninger of The Wall Street Journal responded to Heather MacDonald's point that Hispanics in this country have a 50 percent illegitimacy rate, the highest teen pregnancy rate of any group and the highest high school drop-out rate of any group, by asking: "Why don't we feel we are under cultural assault in New York City? You have no sense of this at all here."
You also have no sense of the existence of a middle class in New York City. The rich have hidden the evidence, transplanting all but the massively wealthy to the suburbs. Manhattan is white and getting whiter, while the boroughs are noticeably less white and more dysfunctional.
What evidence is there for the proposition that American culture will leap like a tenacious form of tuberculosis to today's immigrants? Americans display no evident desire to defend their culture, much less transmit it, and immigrants show no evident desire to adopt it.
To the contrary, immigrants are replacing American culture with Latin American culture. Their apparent constant need to demonstrate is just one example.
As Mac Johnson wrote in Human Events last year, these immigrant protests represent "the colonization of America by the Latin style of politics." He listed just some of the demonstrations drawing thousands — sometimes hundreds of thousands — of protesters over the last few years in Mexico alone. Among the targets of the protests were a new regional trade pact, plans to allow private investment in the state-owned electricity industry, energy and tax reforms, and support for the mayor of Mexico City.
In 1993 — long before 9/11, before the USS Cole bombing, before the bombing of our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania — the eminent Harvard political scientist Samuel P. Huntington predicted that the greatest threat to Western civilization would come from a clash of civilizations, noting with particular concern the "bloody borders" of the Muslim world.
So it ought to be of some interest that Huntington is now predicting, in his book "Who Are We: The Challenges to America's National Identity," that America cannot survive the cultural onslaught from Latin America.
American Hispanics responded to Huntington's book with a flurry of scholarly papers and academic debates to counter his thesis that Mexicans were not assimilating.
Just kidding! They called for national protests against Huntington, his publisher and Harvard University.

If you want half of the immigrants to go home and I want half of them to go home, does that mean if we get our collective wishes they ALL go home?
The point is that we need to stop the new criminal class, the ILLEGAL immigrants.
I think that all of us see the value of immigration. Unless your name involves a verb and the name of an animal it is a pretty good guess that your forebears came here from a different clime.
The Italians, Irish, Jews, Polish and most every other large influx of alien brought with them their talents and desires and received fear and hate from the less recent immigrant. Yet, the huge majority of these of some of the more popular European ethnic flavors came here legally.
We were told when we were growing up that the United States was a melting pot, I think we all understood that concept: the best of the various cultures were assimilated into the existing culture and those hyper-unique were not.
Today, what we have is less a melting pot than a salad where the individual flavors are still there and unadulterated by the others. There is not enough bleu-cheese dressing and bacon bits to make this kind of society workable.
We need enforcement of existing laws, not creating watered-down already non-enforceable ones.
One of the reasons why we are not “trying to turn immigrants into Americans” is because most Americans are too fat, lazy and apathetic to do any darn thing about it. For proof of this I submit to you the Congress of the United States. Years ago, a Pelosi, Reid, Murtha et al would have had felony charges proffered against them. What happens now? They are given the leadership of our Legislative Branch.
Truly, I do not blame the immigrants for breaking and entering our country. It is our fault and all the chest-beating and wailing and gnashing of teeth will be of no avail until we get off our fat asses and DO something about it.

Poor dear.
Anyone who more than six years in is first catching on to the fact that Bush is 'really stupid' doesn't exactly qualify as the brightest bulb on the tree themselves.
You've wasted so much time screaming about Dems, RINO's and everybody under the sun being the 'enemy', yet you say NOTHING about the fact that Congress, both Dem and Repub, are nothing more than Corporate Shills.
Wake up!
Congress and the White House don't give a rat's patoot what the American People want.
But Heaven Forbid anyone should step on your Libertarian toes and attempt to correct this issue, even with a lame feint like McCain-Feingold and you act more outraged than the night Bill Clinton stood you up.
Nope. You broke it, you own it.
Business WANTS this Amnesty deal, and guess what?
THEY ARE GONNA GET IT!
Don't like it?

And you haven't addressed the issue that nearly EVERYONE expects these new 'citizens' to vote OVERWHELMINGLY Democratic.
George W. Bush has effectively FINISHED the Republican Party, not just for '06 or '08, but probably PERMANENTLY.
Welcome to One-Party Rule, folks, and that Party will be the Democrats.
Lotsa luck to ya.

First off, ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS & CLOSE THE BORDERS!
Then, NO MORE voting ballots in any other language than ENGLISH! How dare some official mandatorily decree that ballots must also be printed in another language. Why only Spanish?? I am so tired of pressing 1 for English I could throw up! Why not 3 for German, 4 for French, 5 for Polish???? and on and on. Why do the Spanish-speaking people feel they have the right to demand we press 1 for English. I believe there is a bill in the House right now from an Oklahoma representative to make English the official language of our country. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD FIRST STEP!!!
President Bush should immediately nullify the executive order that president Clinton issued regarding providing interpreters to all receiving federal funds! HELLO!!!! How are non-citizens/non-English-speaking persons receiving federal funds???!!!

Immigration without assimilation is an end to America as we know it. Whether just stupid or in support of political/economic goals, those supporting this catastrophic, illegal program for their own good are as dangerous as any jihadist.
This country must massively disobey any such destructive law passed which will end our existence as the historic USA and make damned sure the politicians on both side of the fence know that we are out here taking names. It's time to fight for our survival!

Jak,
I'll be sending you an invoice for the dynamite you've used!
My view on this, for those who don't already know is this: Close the borders. Make "illegal" MEAN illegal!! And stop purchasing anything from companies who hire illegals.
Also, we need to put a stop to this "Anchor baby" crap!

Why whine about W permanently finishing the Republican Party? Other than pander to dimwits whose main concern is protecting unborn "babies" what has he ever done that was even remotely associated with Republican ideology? Shrink government? Curb spending? Lesson government interference with individual liberties? Please. This walking disaster, this international embarrassment, has always been beholden to big business special interests and no one else. There is no such thing as a quaint idea like the "United States" to him and his ilk, only corporate interests, profits. kevind has it exactly right. If business interests want amnesty to drive down labor costs, that's exactly what our official immigration policy is going to be. Game over. Race to the bottom accomplished. It's time to take the blinders off about this "president" of ours. And, by the way, Ann Coulter is 40-something and still single, right? Who is she to lecture "the poor" about keeping their knees together before marriage? Is she arguing that what's okay for the Ann Coulters and Paris Hiltons of the world should be forbidden for her servants?

Great column, Ann!
The first thing on the American agenda should be the elimination of PC - political correctness. Terrorists are terrorists - not insurgents; prisoners of war are prisoners of war - not detainees; and illegal immigrants are illegal immigrants - not a necessary work force.
Second, secure our borders, and send any illegals back to where they came from, and make them run or paddle the entire way. They were fit enough to run or paddle here - they can run or paddle their way back home.
Third, America needs to eliminate most of its government handout failure programs. These freebees, at the expense of the law biding taxpayer, only entice illegal immigrants to come here, and most of the programs don't work anyway.
Fourth, reduce our confiscatory taxes and get government out of the way of business.
kevind:
You completely miscomprehended the opening statement. I suggest you read it again, this time, read the entire sentence. The “stupid Americans like George Bush” was satirical. Ann may not agree with the Bush policy or any policy that involves the granting of amnesty to illegal immigrants, and though I cannot speak for her, I don’t believe she thinks he’s stupid.

(I will need to tweak my filter)
Since a liberal can not stay on topic (oh… look a bald eagle) I will digress to accommodate a non-sequitor that slipped through.
“(p)rotecting unborn ‘babies’” is a term that always gets me to thinking.
If it is not a baby what is it? When does it become a baby? How do you know?
And the ever popular…
“How would you feel if your mother had an abortion, say, 6-7-8 months before YOU were born? (Sorry, no longer up to the minute that you may have been born.)
(And why is it that these swells think it is hunky-dory to kill an innocent baby but they cry, protest, have sit-ins and more when a mass-murderer is given a one-way ticket to their eternal reward by “The People?”)
I am a fair person and I believe in the democratic process. Just like in some situations a majority carries the resolution, in a more serious situation a super-majority is required and in certain cases unanimity is required, such as in the death penalty phase of a sentencing.
Since the termination of a baby (note, no “ ” needed) is in fact a death sentence, I would be all for abortion if the “doctor” (“first, do no harm”), the “mother” and the baby (note again, no “ ”) ALL agree that is the best option.
Until then, lets keep our future American Citizens safe.

I feel the need to address Doorma.
You state, "And, by the way, Ann Coulter is 40-something and still single, right? Who is she to lecture "the poor" about keeping their knees together before marriage? Is she arguing that what's okay for the Ann Coulters and Paris Hiltons of the world should be forbidden for her servants?"
Um... please pardon me but... WHAT???
This is like saying that because Condi Rice doesn't have any family fighting in Iraq, she can't comment about the war. Nancy Pelosi tried that, and it didn't fly, just the same as your comments.
Could it be that Ann Coulter is an EXAMPLE of an alternative for women? That you can be successful without getting married and having children? There are other roles for women to play in this country.
And placing Ann Coulter and Paris Hilton in the same catagory is just too weird for my mind to get a grip on. One woman has worked her way to where she is, and the other hasn't worked a day in her life. Where's the comparison?
Ann Coulter never did anything "unnatural and just plain creepy" with a burger for a commercial like Paris did. Ann hasn't been pulled over for a DUI, then drove on a suspended license like Paris did... so exactly where is the comparison?
Maybe you're comparing the fact that they both have money? Did Ann come from money? Probably. So what?

Thanks for a biting, right on the money lampoon of our current immigration sellout. At least you have the guts to call these people what they are for advocating the surrender of United States Sovereignty: Traitors. Here's on simple solution.
Seal the borders (with troops if necessary), enforce the already existing laws, double the fines on employers who knowingly hire illegal alien workers, and take away all existing illegal alien welfare dips into SSI. The millions here will self deport because there will be no jobs.
How to seal the border without a fence – post these orders South of the Border, and all along our borders.
1.Anyone caught crossing illegally will be fingerprinted, DNA sampled, picture filed, put to hard labor in the fields for three months, and returned penniless to the border.
2.Second time – six months hard labor, and returned penniless to the border.
3.Three months added with each incursion until the illegal stops coming.
4.Problem solved.

I 'whine' about the potential demise of the Republican Party because we've seen over the last six years what happens under one party rule.
Corruption, Rubberstamping, and Gross Incompetence.
The Democrats will be just as bad as the Republicans have been.
And who loses? The American People. Again.

kevind:
You're not really making sense here and I sincerely doubt you're a Republican and care one bit about the party:
"I 'whine' about the potential demise of the Republican Party because we've seen over the last six years what happens under one party rule."
We had 40 years of "one party rule" under the Democratic party and look what they did. Reagan reduced taxes from 70%. It was Democrats that got us to that point in the first place. And, yes, it was under Reagan (with both Democratic houses if I remember correctly) that gave amnesty to illegal aliens which was a HUGE mistake.
Republicans only had "one party rule" for 12 years. They had been out of power for so long that they didn't know what to do with it when they finally got it. They were duped by Democrats into something called "power sharing", which Republicans fell for hook, line, and sinker. When Democrats hold a slim majority, are you hearing anything about "power sharing"? Not on your life.
Republicans need to act like Republicans when they get elected, but they don't.
If you are suggesting that you support "bipartisanship", then you must be very willing to compromise your values and positions because that is what "bipartisanship" is. Someone has to be willing to "give" on something, and it's usually the Republicans that give in.
Partisanship is a good thing. Having a set of values and standing by them is a good thing. It means you stand for something.

I think you missed the point. Ann Coulter and Paris Hilton would not be adding to the welfare roles if they were to get pregnant. I'm sure they both can and would support their children, although one might not survive the pregnancy.
Basically, the poor have been duped into: "have as many babies as you want and we (the Democratic Party) will take care of them for you". What they didn't say is "by taxing the crap out of everyone else, we'll take care of them and keep you dependent on us - so continue to vote for Democrats for your handouts." This is why we needed welfare reform.
It's called "responsibility". If you can't support them, don't get pregnant in the first place - it is a choice.

To Kevind et al,
George Bush is not stupid. Worse, he is doing what he believes is right, but is dead wrong and grossly deceived. If you recall, he was accused of being stupid for not being able to name the heads of state of some obscure countries.
I am not defending his immigration policies: They are dead wrong and deadly.
Kevind is right about the dangers of one party rule. We have seen it from the Democrats for the last fifty plus years, even though they only ruled for forty of them. Their gross incompetence, corruption, arrogance, and unbridled lust for power exemplifies Lord Acton's famous line, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
As for Ann's comment about persons keeping their knees together before marriage. It works to keep the bastards to a minimum. It also aids in keeping children safe and emotionally healthy.
As for Ann and Paris: I haven't seen Paris's famous videos. If Ann makes one like that, I'd like to watch it with her--like that would ever happen.

"Kevind is right about the dangers of one party rule."
Not true. That depends upon which party is ruling and what they stand for.
The problem is that Democrats NEVER come clean and spell out in unambiguous terms exactly what it is that they stand for. Democrats MUST deceive and flip-flop because if they came out and stated exactly what they are for, they'd be "run out of Dodge" forever.
If they ever came out and stated that they are for taxing "the rich" to redistribute to the poor, are against our military and our super power status, are against capitalism and businesses, do not believe that something called "terrorists" actually exist and want to destroy America, that they want everyone dependent upon them and their nanny state programs and want complete control over everyone’s lives, they'd NEVER have power again.
Partisanship is a good thing because it defines who you are and what you stand for. If you disagree with what a particular person or party stands for, you have the freedom to find one that does.
If you don’t know what a person or party stands for because all they spout is platitudes with no substance, like liberals and Democrats do, these are the people or party that are dangerous. They are afraid to tell you what they stand for, therefore, you have no idea what they will support and how they will vote on legislation that affects you.

Immigration...like every other topic of GREAT importance to our country...splits our nation just about right down the middle, with the pussy liberals on one side, and conservatives on the other. Granted...there are some pussies on the "conservative side"...but they are typically RINOs and quivering purse-dogs in Congress. Likewise, there are some very astute and responsible people "on the left"...but they typically hover near the center, and don't cater to lies and machinations of the far-left. Joe Lieberman is a great example...great man...a little left of center...but not the typical pussy-liberal who is trying to take our country straight in to socialism and a "world village". In my humble opinion, anyone who IS trying to take our country in such a direction is absolutely NOT a patriot, regardless of what niceties and PC-ness are thought to be necessary these days. Ann Coulter continues to prove that she is one of the smartest chicks on the planet...and Ann knows that "chick" is not derogatory. When I was growing up, a chick was someone who was hot and likeable. But then, I also knew right away exactly what Ann meant when she referred to him as a "faggot". She didn't mean homosexual...she meant he was a pussy!...a wuss! Duh!! But I digress. Immigration has a specific meaning...and the definition does not include the illegal flood coming (for the most part) across our southern border. Perhaps most Canadians aren't flooding in to our country across our northern border because...their country doesn't suck!!! That's right. I said it. Mexico sucks!! If it didn't, the only people crossing our borders would be Muslims with a bad Mexican accent! Sure would make things a lot easier, don't you think? So...our "friends" from the south should go home...fix their OWN damn country of its corruption and filth...and quit trying to F our country up! "F it up, you say Ziggy?" Yes...by NOT assimilating as mentioned so eloquently above by people smarter than me...by taxing our services way beyond their limit...by too suddenly diffusing our "melting pot"...they will F up our country. Of course, by the time most of the pussy liberals figure it out, it will be too late, and we'll all be singing The Star Spangled Enchilada before baseball games. Am I a racist? Pssssshhhhhhhhtttttt *snerk*!!! No...I'm and American and I want to stay that way! Does France and Germany and GB just let millions of illegal aliens flood their countries? Hell no!! Norway? Spain? Saudi Arabia? Hell no!! So why isn't that okay for us? Oh...that's right...typical pussy liberal mantra...we our entitled to their opinion. Well, my pussy liberal friends...you wouldn't have the ability to whine and piss and moan about all these things, if it wasn't for the courage and dedication and sacrifice of men and women who are far better than any of you will ever be. Ted Kennedy? Pussy...and a killer by the way. Nancy Pelosi? Pussy...and a heartless bee-actch I'm told. The Dems have more of an elite than the conservatives could ever dream about...but then that fits right in to another thing I've said for a handful of years now...listen to what the far left is screeching about the right doing...and you'll know exactly what they themselves are doing or have done. It's proveable in 98.6% of all topics! Ooops...I've done a liberal thing...I've made up statistics just to favor my viewpoint.
Boycott Hollywood!

As I am oft fond of quoting the inestimable Rodney King with his sagacious “why can’t we all just get along” I wish to co-opt that, just for the length that our Great Republic lasts.
“Why can’t they all just follow the law?”
Really, is it THAT hard?
This also includes ENFORCING the law.
It is the epitome of arrogance to pass a “law” regarding “immigration” when we have some perfectly fine laws already on the books. The problem is the mealy mouthed liberals who do not want to see any illegal left behind without my tax dollars. They (the ACLU, et al) look for every loophole to allow anything that is anti-American to come to be embraced.
Those, myself included, who have made pronouncements hither and yon that it is the illegals fault or the gov’t’s fault, or the bleeding San Andreas Fault, are all off base.
It is OUR fault for: #1 electing folks who will not enforce the law, #2 for re-electing them and #3 not having an absolute 100% insane hissy-fit when they do not do their job.
What can we do? Contact your congressman and senator, demand that they simply do not pass some hare-brained plan with no teeth but to ENFORCE existing laws. Call/write/smoke signals if needed them every day.

Germany, France and Spain are all overrun with foreigners uninvited. (Heck they are all foreigners to me.) It has been reported that within 20 years France will be a Muslim country.
Now, some may say it would be an improvement, but with the Regime Nouveau we like them again. At least until they screw us over, again. Ditto Germany with their huge “guest worker program” comprised largely of Turks. And, recall, Spain was once under the thumbs of the Muslim invaders and it is only a matter of time before it happens again.
While I get your point about Canadania, I would not be so quick to praise them. They were not exactly our staunchest ally in Iraq. As far as Mexico sucking, well. I guess that would explain why all the trees in Texas lean to the South.
But you are correct, my good man, 98.634% of libs make up some 104.89% of the lies, ooopps did I say that, I meant “facts”, that they rote regurgitate. The libs are so freaking dim that they expect us to believe their equine scatology just because they do.
On second, or third thought, perhaps we ought to meet them on their terms. A disinformation campaign might just do the trick. We can write letters to editors and enter into blogs “facts” such as 83.93% of all crime in So Cal is committed by illegal aliens and 88.42% of babies born in LA Country out of wedlock are to illegals. (The scary thing is that my hyper-accurate lie just might be on the LOW side.)

I am sharing the following joke because it is so right on:
Subject: Post Turtle
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the young doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to former Texas Governor, George W. Bush, and his elevation to the White House.
The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a post turtle." Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. "You just know he didn't get there by himself, that he doesn't belong there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want to help the dumb shit get down."

Meats:
From your lips to God's Ears:
Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:
Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;
has committed a federal crime.
Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.
Of course there are more. (Unlike a lib, once I make my case, I can stop. I do not need to obfuscate "facts" with a bunch o'crap to hide behind.)

and more...
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)
"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.
I think that covers most aqll parts, from the illegals themselves, to those who abet them to those who hire them.
All perfectly good laws. What say we try these out for a while before passing some new ones.
(Back to the RICO Act to see how we can get the ACLU disbanded as a criminal influenced racket.)

Now, everyone needs to copy and paste what Jak just posted and fax that with the message, "Why are you not enforcing this?" to every person you know who holds a political position.

Of course, we can quote the USC 1324 & USC 1325 to our elected Senators and Representatives, but that will not get them executed. That is the task of the POTUS to direct enforcement of existing law. One can encourage our Congressional representation to either censure the present POTUS- GWBush, for neglecting to enforce existing law as it is his Constitutional and sworn obligation to do, or insist upon impeachment and removal from office for failing to abide by his oath of office. Then, we would have interim POTUS Cheney either enforcing the law, perhaps chosing to run for a term in office himself as incumbent, or marking time as caretaker POTUS while the gang of 20 or so vie for the nominations of the 2 parties, & perhaps seeing the example of an early GWBush exit will actually perform their duty upon election.

Mine are no better:

Quo,
I'm trying to figure you out.
Your answers to our illegal immigration problem are to not pay our bills, and impeach the president. Hmmm...
We have a voice, and that voice is our elected officials who need to represent us. If we contact them, they will go to the president, or whoever they need to, to remind them that there is a law in place which needs to be enforced. The American people have spoken. And if they won't do it, then we need to be writing letters to the White House ourselves. But all this censure stuff and impeach stuff is going to get us nowhere. Remember, Clinton was also impeached.

ESQ makes a valid but torturous point. I believe it is said tongue in cheek and knowing him as I do, he is pulling our collective legs. But the Allegory (wink-wink) is a good one. One could easily sue ICE, DHS etc to do their BLEEDING JOB, proffer charges against the Senate for suborning existing legislation or more.
The bottom line is there are options.
The question is “are you doing all you can do or just b1tching about it?”

I do believe I have stepped on toes I shouldn't have, and owe ESQ a bit of an apology. I wasn't understanding the tongue in cheekiness. So, forgive me, please.
I guess I am very strong in my belief that we need to be really DOING, and not just talking.

I agree whole-heartedly with JakSavin's comment about "what are we going to do about it". Something that I believe we conservatives CAN do about it...since we can't seem to get quality "representatives" elected (thanks in part I'm sure to the kabal of pussy-liberals and their definite ability to mislead the lemmings of America...), is to write vehemently and consistently and frequently to those who theorhetically "represent" us. An easy way to do that is by registering at NumbersUSA.com, where they provide pointed opportunities to send faxes and/or make phone calls to your reps at appropriate times. While I know that our "representatives" don't read all of them or hear the calls...they do get informed about HOW MANY they receive on one side of the proverbial coin or the other...and if their offices get INUNDATED with consistent viewpoints...that can absolutely sway their vote...and I believe it has. Check it out...I've been able to easily send hundreds of faxes over the last few years doing this.
Boycott Hollywood!

Ah, but Clinton was a Democrat impeached by a Republican Congress, Bush would be a Republican impeached by a Democrat Congress, & therein lies the difference. The new POTUS- Cheney would either enforce the existing immigration law (if he were to change his mind about running as a sitting incumbent for his own 1term), or veto the present scamnesty proposal and let the next POTUS deal with immigration,; hopefully be enforcing existing law. Despite my username, which means I aspire to be a Pain in the A$$ of the StatusQuo & an enemy to the Powers that Be. This of course is tongue-in-(mouth)cheek. The solution to not pay our bills is for a very limited duration of time, barely noticable, & would require a slight sacrifice on our credit score. Suppose you live payday to payday. Suppose U get paid every week (7days), but your employer changes his method of payroll. Now U are paid every 14days, the change by definition means the last 7days payday is followed by a 14day period, Cash Flow is impaired, Budget is busted, groceries run low, bills pile up. Message received by Powers that Be.

U know the US Constitution, ArticleI, Section8,i.e.'the enumerated powers', says nothing about the federal government having any juridiction over immigration. The Feds have usurped this power from the states, in violation of the 10th Amendment.

Ann.
I always enjoy your comments, and thank God that there are some sources of clear thinking and analysis in the blizzard of b.s. that passes for "news reporting" in our country.
The border with Mexico has been the source of much cheap labor for US industry over the years, both legal and illegal. If it were not possible for illegal immigrants to obtain either employment or free government services, I think the flood of illegals would turn into a trickle, without the "fence"

Solving the immigration problem or "winning" in Iraq (or accomplishing anything else beneficial to the U.S.) is not likely when our "govt." is owned by private individuals who are not very concerned about the sovereignty, safety or strength of our country. Our govt. is owned by the same people who own the Federal Reserve. They control the dollar and virtually every important arena (gold; credit; insurance; shipping/transportation; energy/oil, etc.) and plainly, whether the citizens of the US thrive is not of much concern to them. If it was, the southern border, using one obvious example, would be the site of a virtually impenetrable barrier that was in the process of being erected with alacrity. Instead, we are witness to govt. abetment of what is obviously an invasion on a few different fronts.
