New Idea For Abortion Party: Aid The Enemy

Printer Friendly

By: Ann Coulter

In the Iraq war so far, the U.S. military has deposed a dictator who had already used weapons of mass destruction and would have used them again. As we now know, Saddam Hussein was working with al-Qaida and was trying to acquire long-range missiles from North Korea and enriched uranium from Niger.

Saddam is on trial. His psychopath sons are dead. We've captured or killed scores of foreign terrorists in Baghdad. Rape rooms and torture chambers are back in R. Kelly's Miami Beach mansion where they belong.

The Iraqi people have voted in two free, democratic elections this year. In a rash and unconsidered move, they even gave women the right to vote.

Iraqis have ratified a constitution and will vote for a National Assembly next month. The long-suffering Kurds are free and no longer require 24/7 protection by U.S. fighter jets.

Libya's Moammar Gadhafi has voluntarily dismantled his weapons of mass destruction, Syria has withdrawn from Lebanon, and the Palestinians are holding elections.

(Last but certainly not least, the Marsh Arabs' wetlands ecosystem in central Iraq that Saddam drained is being restored, so even the Democrats' war goals in Iraq are being met.)

The American military has accomplished all this with just over 2,000 deaths. These deaths are especially painful because they fall on our greatest Americans. Still, look at what the military has done and compare the cost to 600,000 deaths in the Civil War, 400,000 deaths in World War II and 60,000 deaths in Vietnam (before Walter Cronkite finally threw in the towel and declared victory for North Vietnam).

What is known as a "hawk" in today's Democratic Party looks at what our military has accomplished and — during the war, while our troops are in harm's way — demands that we withdraw our troops.

In an upbeat speech now being aired repeatedly on al-Jazeera, last week Rep. John Murtha said U.S. troops "cannot accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily. It is time to bring them home." Claiming the war is "a flawed policy wrapped in illusion," Murtha said the "American public is way ahead of us."

Fed up with being endlessly told "the American people" have turned against the war in Iraq, Republicans asked the Democrats to show what they had in their hand and vote on a resolution to withdraw the troops.

By a vote of 403-3, the House of Representatives wasn't willing to bet that "the American people" want to pull out of Iraq. (This vote also marked the first time in recent history that the Democrats did not respond to getting their butts kicked by demanding a recount.)

The vote is all the more shocking because of what it says about the Democrats' motives in attacking the war — as well as alerting us to three members of Congress we really need to keep an eye on.

It is simply a fact that Democrats like Murtha are encouraging the Iraqi insurgents when they say the war is going badly and it's time to bring the troops home. Whether or not there is any merit to the idea, calling for a troop withdrawal — or "redeployment," as liberals pointlessly distinguish — will delay our inevitable victory and cost more American lives.

Anti-war protests in the U.S. during the Vietnam War were a major source of moral support to the enemy. We know that not only from plain common sense, but from the statements of former North Vietnamese military leaders who evidently didn't get the memo telling them not to say so. In an Aug. 3, 1995, interview in The Wall Street Journal, Bui Tin, a former colonel in the North Vietnamese army, called the American peace movement "essential" to the North Vietnamese victory.

"Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m. to follow the growth of the American anti-war movement," he said. "Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses."

What are we to make of the fact that — as we now know — the Democrats don't even want to withdraw troops from Iraq? By their own account, there is no merit to their demands. Before the vote, Democrats could at least defend themselves from sedition by pleading stupidity. Now we know they don't believe what they are saying about the war. (Thanks to that vote, the Islamo-fascists know it, too.)

The Democrats are giving aid and comfort to the enemy for no purpose other than giving aid and comfort to the enemy. There is no plausible explanation for the Democrats' behavior other than that they long to see U.S. troops shot, humiliated, and driven from the field of battle.

They fill the airwaves with treason, but when called to vote on withdrawing troops, disavow their own public statements. These people are not only traitors, they are gutless traitors.

Ann,
I am with you on this one from top to bottom. I have spoken those statistics about fatalities in previous wars to several people. They do not seem to understand the impact of the HUGE difference in the number of less lives sacrificed in this war than in any other. What you pointed out in accomplishments only solidifies that fact.

Our military should be congratulated for what they have accomplished not dishonored by the spineless, gutless politicians who have put a spin on the war and then continue to vote in favor of it. Their actions lack the conviction of their words.

Stating that this war is without merit or justification only dishonors what those men who died believed in - Protecting our country and our freedom. Those soldiers did not forget 9-11 when they went voluntarily to defend their couhtry and families from the spread of terrorism. Michelle Malkin's article about the Thanksgiving Tree tells it all. Politicians should listen to the majority of the parents and relatives who have stated that their loved ones who died, did so willingly and with pride.

I have stated in previous comments about the fact that this country should be ashamed for it's lack of support for it's leaders. When Roosevelt or Wilson or Lincoln or Washington led us to war, the majority of people and politicians backed them. The minority got over it and jumped in to help execute the solution. Such support, something called unity, helped accomplish victory in the faces of defeat. Undermining the administration today with hateful words only tells the world that we are not unified in our purpose. It also only gives misleading information to Americans. They say one thing and vote another.
The disgust of politicians such as Dean and Kennedy would normally have ended their careers. How could we let a man who is as ignorant and hot headed as Howard Dean be in charge of anything. Ted Kennedy should be serving a life sentence in jail for murder not stepping in front of a microphone poisoning America with his distorted views. And their fearless leader Bill Clinton has set an example that has loosened the morality of America youth by soiling the office of the President.

What is even more appalling are the people who support Kennedy, a murderer, Clinton, an adulturer and a President who lied to the American public. These are men who in times of the Roosevelt administration, would certainly be tried as traitors to the foundation of America. Yet American liberals insist on supporting and excusing, such men of dishonor and character.

When will Liberal America stop being spineless traitors. When will they get with the program to finish the work at hand and stop wasting time creating lies that even their gutless politicians will not vote in support of in Congress.

Ann, Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and you hungry readers. I would have said "Happy Turkey Day" but I would not want to slight a great bird who keeps on giving. The true "Turkeys" are Senators: Ted Kennedy(big bird but not a lifesaver),Harry Reid(too skinny and never thinks),Jay Rockerfeller(tall bird-sticks long neck out too far),Robert Bryd(grind up for fertilizer)and DNC spokesman Howard Dean(Gobbles too often, too loud, and is often quickly dispatched). There are many others in the barnyard of the congress but there is always Christmas where turkey may be served again, verno

Thanks Ann for being there for us true Americans. I am so tired of these traitors and think its time for all of us to stand up against them and take back EVERYTHING they have perverted. Our schools for taking away prayer and teaching false propaganda history. Our churches by kicking out the leaders who think its ok to be gay. Our hospitals by stopping the stalinistic doctors from killing our unborn. Our prisons by carrying out the death sentences the murderous thugs deserve in a swift manner. Our government by ridding ourselves of these spineless liberals, who I feel are evil to the core. how else could you justify the killing of the innocent and the defending of the guilty. Amos ch.5 verses 6-17. thus saith the LORD GOD, Amen!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ms. Coulter,
A fine column, as usual. You sure have the ability to motivate people. I never miss reading your articles or seeing you on Fox programs.

It is obvious that you speak from a great deal of knowledge. That always wins out over other "guests" on the shows you are invited to. The dummycrates just don't understand what they are saying or believe their party is more important than their country.

Posted by: MartyU [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 24, 2005 03:43 PM

Yawn.
Anyone who has heard you speak twice, could have written this column for you.
If you're just going to "phone it in", don't bother.

Hi Ann,
What our modern military has accomplished in Afghanistan and Iraq is really phenomenal. Unfortunately the Left and the Media have been campaigning for the next election for five years, and in their simple-minded way, believe that reporting bad news, or creating bad news, will reflect upon Bush. Most Americans are bright enough to see through the double-speak they see on the left.

Bush’s war strategy is actually brilliant in the simplest of ways. In a world-wide war against terrorism, send our army to the heart of the Islamic world, and it will so enrage the Wahabbi’s that they will all go to Iraq to defend their heartland. There is no doubt that it is working beautifully, and every terrorist that goes to Iraq is one that is not in London, or Madrid, or New York City. Unfortunately, we have let them breed for decades, and should have fully funded the abortion movement in the Islamic states years ago. How about RU-486 in all Islamic water systems.??

Same goes for the left. Exactly how any serious political party can bury their heads in the sand and nominate a traitor like John Kerry to be the Commander in Chief is brain-dead. Kerry was a traitor against his own country through his own testimony under oath before the congress of the United States during his “war hero” period. The Swift Boat Veterans blew the whistle on Kerry, but the media buried the truth, to the best of their ability.

After the book was published, Kerry was asked if he had read it. His answer was Kerrychteristic, - “No, I haven’t. It is a pack of lies”. Without reading the book, he knew its contents. His testimony before congress was based upon the same kind of mindless drivel. And how any serious national political party could, in good conscience, nominate a person with no conscience, no vision, and a treasonous record, boggles the mind.

The really surprising thing is that so many million mindless people could actually vote for him,

It may be that our politicians in Washington are all becoming mindless characters, and most have lost any perspective of what may be in the interest of the country. We may have descended into the politics of extremism, in which only those with extreme views ever reach the light of day, and the vast majority of voters have a hard choice between either of the two political parties.

I appreciate your columns so much, Ann, and we love it when you are on The Factor and Hannity and Colmes. Network news is so obviously in the business of tearing down the President and the Republican Party, and shoving the Liberal Agenda down the throats of Americans every night. I hope and pray that our country will realize what's going on, and soon. Thanks Ann, and God bless from Royal Oak, Michigan.

Right on, Ann. I couldn't have said it better myself. The Democrats are giving aid and comfort to the enemy thinking it will benefit them politically. Fortunately most Americans are smart enough to see through this and it will backfire on them.
